Day One

I use my journal almost every day.Excellent application. I really enjoy being able to go back on previous times to see where I am now.

Potential to Re-Energize Your Life

For years I have always made it a point to have a notebook available to me for the purpose of journaling about all sorts of aspects of my life. The trouble is that it will not occur to me to actually write entries on anything remotely close to a regular basis. Not only that but the things I wish to write about fall into different categories and levels of sensitivity ranging from the ultra private to things I hope to eventually share with others. With Day One I find that the ability to create multiple journals that can be accessed and synced across devices and protected appropriately results in journaling staying at the forefront of my mind. The ability to collect photos and metadata makes journaling fun and more interesting. Now its becoming a habit and I love watching the record I am keeping of my life grow. It encourages me to live each day more fully because that not only makes life more enjoyable but increases the excitement about reliving your days in the form of writing! I highly recommend this app to all humans!

THE BEST Journal App

A MUST HAVE for Contemplative Living in the 21st century!!

Love this

This app is on my phone and computer. I love it. I sync one journal to both- titled- On the Go. I dont want all my phone data taken up by the entries. So when I do a longer computer entry I usually move my "on the go" entries into applicable titles journals that I dont sync and keep on my computer only. Very handy! I feel like my thoughts and feelings are safe from wondering eyes and I love that. I type faster than I write so this has been so much easier futilely trying to keep an hand written journal. Love this app. Worth the money to me... for sanity.

So its now basically the old version but without iCloud or Dropbox integration.

Awesome job, guys. Maybe dont pull the rug out from underneath your customers. I get you need to make money and Im fine with a subscription service offering additional features. But dont offer all these included features like multiple photos per entry, your own sync service, or ifttt integration, only to yank them away once we make the switch. I loved the app when I first bought it. The money grab is really turning me off of it though.

Good, and with potential

I have been a user of the first Day One app for years. A big booh to the decision to steer away from iCloud - this worked extremely well in the past and I just feel much more secure letting Apple handle my journal data. On top of that there is currently no encryption available, although it will come in a future update. It has become really annoying to access the star function. Why I would need 8 different journals in the same app is beyond me. ---- Update, a year later. Encryption is now finally offered, but in return Day One is now a subscription service. ICloud remains unsupported, and the above is the simple reason. Force the user into your proprietary ecosystem. Its pricey, in my opinion. Day One is still my journal, its still a beautiful app, but I feel that nothing has changed in a positive way, there are no really big new features that I didnt have had years ago.

The best diary / log app, period!

Have been using this app since 2012. Ive seen the apps grows and right now, 28th July 2017, it is better than ever. Just try it, you wont regret it one bit.

Bloom ruined a great app

I purchased and used Day One on everyone of my devices --iPhone, iPad, iMac, Mac Pro, Apple Watch. I loved and recommended Day One to everyone who indicated a desire to journal, but couldnt get started. Many similarly purchased and used Day One. But, when Bloom eliminated the iCloud sync, and substitued their own paid subscription sync service, Day One lost its appeal. Ive years of jounaling on Day One, but no more. Blooms excuse that it wanted to assure proper encription is baloney. I paid for the app; Im willing to pay for updates. But I should continue to be able to chose which sync client i want to use. Bring back the option of using iCloud sync, which I already pay for and meets my security concerns. Let the customer make the choice. Such a disappointment; I can no longer recommed Day One.

Changing over to subscription after paying for this app!

I love this app and had so many of my friends to purchase it too. But changing to subscription based plans and not "grandfathering" in people who have already purchased the app is pretty lame in my opinion.

Great App

Havent tried the paid version yet But this is great ! No issues Like the reminders

Used for years

I love this app! I have used this app for a few years now and I love it. They have updated it pretty well over the years and Im really glad I can upload more than one photo a day. I have talked my friends into using this app too and they love it especially those who recently had kids.

Great journal

Day 1 is an excellent app for maintaining a daily journal and keeping notes on encounters. Being able to store photos that will automatically track the location, date, and time of events for journal entries is awesome. The daily reminders to journal are also great since they come from an activity feed you can review to write about what mattered most from the past day. The app has worked very well and I feel safe with the data since I know it is backed up in the cloud and can be ported to other mediums.

Turning up a gem...

Wonderful for journaling, but discovered so many other uses for this. Fits into my workflow on so many levels, in addition to being a superb Writers Journal... Used every day...

DONT UPGRADE

Dontt waste your time and money. You will lose every you have written and saved for the past years. And support doesnt care at all to help you!!!!!!

Great journal!

I use Day One on an almost daily basis. Its easy to search through. It has a clean format that allows ease of use.

Almost there

I love Day One and the ability to look back on entries by date and location. Im happy to pay a subscription model, but hope that means they come through with new features soon, namely audio recording and publishing to a blog (now that theyre working on a web version I hope they simply allow you to make a journal public/password protected so anyone can view it). Those are long wished for/promised features that would make my workflow even simpler. Finally, I still experience typing lag issues on both my iPhone and iPad pro. I type long entries, so generally use Drafts 4 and then import the text. These typing bugs have persisted for quite awhile. Pretty minor overall and may only affect longer entries or entries with a lot of photos.

The best diary app

Day one keep improving and become my only diary app for personal and business diary and memo. Cant live without it! Its simply that good! Its simple to use and powerful enough to take down text and photos.

Are use Day One for work log

I am a service technician on elevators; I have a lot of technical details to keep track up in many different locations. I have tried many methods and day one is far far superior to any of them; and the price is very reasonable. There is a small learning curve but every time that I have emailed a question I have gotten a very thorough response, usually in just a few hours.

Very, very nice

This would get 5 stars if it had a couple of functions that I could really use. First I would really like it if the search map would pull out my contacts addresses when I type their names. Second I would like to insert videos into my days. I cant think of anything else I would change. Maybe these will come with an update in the future!

Slow app

After using the app to view or edit some entries, the app will slow down!! tying is so painful! No updates solved the problem!
