unable to sync for a whole day on oct,1st in China.

A great app. nothing to complain about. the social media feature is useless to me as well. the power consumption appears to be high.

Really well done

They did a great job with this new version. Love the multiple journals feature most - that is what was missing from the first Day One. Highly recommended!

Fantastic app

Easy to use. Full featured. I use on all my devices.

So far so good

Easy to use. Good app. Im writing more.

Best journaling app, hands-down

I started using Day One Classic the day it was released on both platforms (Mac and iOS ) in March 2011. I loved the original app, and appreciated the steady stream of refinements and speedy attention to trouble-shooting. Customer support was the best I ever encountered, especially when dealing with agent Sam. I didnt think it possible to improve on Classic - but v2 is even better; and the team is continuing its tradition of releasing a steady stream of refinements. If youre on the fence about buying this app: dont be. Buy it now; its awesome.

Best so far

Great app, love the syncing between devices.

Simple digital journaling is awesome

I am enjoying keeping track of small and big thoughts on each day and recording this in such a simple format with added features. Get this app!

Wow. Bad. Buggy.

I hope Day One works through the bugs. Since this latest version which ushered in a bunch of questionably useful features, Day One has been slow; randomly freezing up; and crash-y. It reminds me of how Evernote went from high utility to buggy, bloated mess. I love Day One and hope to see it right the ship.

The best journal app

Ive used a lot of journal apps and Day One is the best by far. Well worth the $ @billknox

App crashing at open

App was previously 5 stars but after recent update it crashes 6s plus almost every time I open it. Bummer.

Indispensable!

Absolutely awesome. Its been so wonderful to create the habit of daily journaling, and its so nice to know that my most important thoughts are well-preserved and available to me in any moment on any device!

Love!

Im terrible at journaling consistently. I love to do it, but I have a hard time getting around to doing it. Day One makes it really easy to journal from my iPhone, iPad, or MacBook... no matter where I am or what Im doing, if I have time to fire off a text message, I have time to jot stuff down in my journal.

A great Journal!

Ive been working with it for some time now, the more I use it, the more adept I become with it. Like anything else, the more familiar your are with it, the more you can get it to do. Read the reviews, this is the best app out there. Theres cheaper ones with more reviews, but that doesnt make them better!

Great Program!

I was looking for a journal program that I could use with my iOS device as well as my Mac. This app fits the requirement quite nicely! I have looked at many different journal/notebook apps and I can say that you wont be disappointed. The only reason why I havent awarded 5 stars is that I am relatively new to this app (less than 6 months) and I am still finding little tricks that make keeping a journal easier. This app is well worth the asking price!

Great app

Easy to use. Encourages me to journal.

Great App

This is a great Journal app - best of the ones I have tried. Ive been using it for about 1-1/2 years and love it. It syncs great to my iPhone and iPad. Love the ability to add more than one phone. If you are looking for a Journaling app, look no further. This one is great!

Remembering a great journey

This software has been amazing for my wife and I as we enjoy our life we are able to create entries for our memories.

Excellent journal software

Good cross-platform support. Set up was easy if a bit fiddly. I plan to use this to create a memorable diary of retirement.

Encryption!!!

Honest to God, what are you guys doing! This was promised for earlier this year. WHEN WILL IT COME! It might be a great app but has a fundamental flaw, no privacy. It goes to the heart of what it is meant to be. Wake up and fix this! Where is the encryption! These are personal diaries. Surely you should have included that important feature in a paid update! Priorities skewed. When are you guys going to take care of the important stuff?

• "private" journals, no warrant required!

This app now uses proprietary sync on shared, 3rd party AWS servers, without any encryption (neither end-to-end, nor otherwise). Turns out that, as the journals are unencrypted, and particularly considered to be in possession of a 3rd party, the Fourth Amendment is not held to apply under current judicial interpretation, and any practicing lawyer may issue a subpoena to easily access them, without notice -- i.e., no warrant or probable cause are required. Taking the position that one does not care about privacy because one has nothing to hide, is very much the same as claiming one isnt concerned about freedom of speech because one has nothing to say. We dont and wont currently employ this product for private data, having objected when iCloud sync was removed from this app at the beginning of 2016. We continue to hope that this developer will eventually implement encryption, as finally promised back then.
